Operation Green Light: Clear Your Driver’s License Suspension & Save on Fees

If you have a suspended driver’s license, overdue court obligations, or unpaid traffic tickets, Operation Green Light is your opportunity to get back on the road—while saving money!

What is Operation Green Light?

Operation Green Light is a limited-time event offered by the Alachua County Clerk’s Office that allows individuals to pay off overdue court-related fines and fees. During this event, collection agency fees are waived, meaning you can save up to 25% in fees while working toward reinstating your driver’s license.

When & Where?

You can pay in person or over the phone during business hours at either courthouse location.
  • March 31 – April 4, 2025
  • 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Family & Civil Courthouse – 201 E. University Ave., Gainesville, FL (Civil Traffic Cases)
  • Criminal Courthouse – 220 S. Main St., Gainesville, FL (All Criminal Cases)

How to Participate

During Operation Green Light, you have two options to resolve your overdue court obligations:

Option 1: Pay in Full

Pay the original amount, waive all fees and interest, and close your case to clear your driver’s license suspension.*

Option 2: Set Up a Payment Plan

Collection agency fees will be waived, but interest remains, and the case stays open until the payment plan is completed. A $25 fee is required, and fees return if the plan isn’t finished.

How to Make a Payment

You can pay in person or over the phone. Accepted payment methods:
  • Cash
  • Personal/Cashier Checks
  • Major Credit Cards (3.5% convenience fee for credit card payments)

Important Information:

Operation Green Light only applies to Alachua County cases. Driver’s license reinstatement fees cannot be waived and are not included in the payment plan.
